Finally Raducan...

The first person I bumped into when I got to the hotel in Stuttgart was my friend Stefan from Switzerland. Unfortunately, we got bad news in the hotel! We were told that this time we wouldn't be allowed to got to the training hall at all! The FIG asked for very high safety because of the World Cup Final!!! That was quite a big disappointment for us!
We got into the arena without problems and met some friends. And right then we got more bad news! They all were angry, because they were not allowed to take their cameras in! We couldn't believe that! I took quite a lot of photos during women's bars! We saw Kuznetsova in the audience earlier on, so I went over to her, and she signed two photos for me! Then after the medal ceremony we went to the door the gymnasts have to go through on their way to the training hall. We saw several gymnasts passing by. I didn't ask them for anything then as they seemed to be in a hurry. But when I saw Ziganshina coming, I got the photo ready I took with me and asked her to sign it! She was very nice asking me if she should sign it and where!

Unfortunately, I made a mistake and took my camera with me! A man came up asking me if I had an official permit for it. I had to give them my camera until after the competition! I was really angry and once again disappointed! The room where they had it had a door out, so we simply used that! And that really was a good decision, because we found ourselves at the place where the gymnasts leave the hall to get the bus! We decided to just wait and see if we could meet some people! Several gymnasts came out, but we let them pass. Then we saw a car coming to pick up people, which we thought seemed a bit strange. Some minutes later we saw Ziganshina coming out with Arkayev. Stefan wanted to get her autograph, but Arkajev said "tomorrow". Then we noticed she still was limping and went to that car. Once they were sitting in it, the car changed position but still kept waiting. We saw Arkayev opening the window, and he waved over to Stefan and gave him a sign to come to the car and get his autograph from Natalia! While he was there getting it, I saw Raducan coming out! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw her on crutches! I didn't notice her hurting herself on floor! So she also got into the car with Ziganshina. Once she was sitting inside, Stefan got her autograph as well, and she also signed a photo for me! We found that so nice of her to still do it when she and Natalia both had a big ice bag on their foot! So when the car left we showed her a sign to cheer her up, and she cracked her gorgeous smile for us! After they were gone we still kept waiting, and after some time Petrovschi came out with Belu! So I went up to Belu and asked him, if I could take a photo together with Oana, and he was like "yes, of course" and even kind of pushed her into my direction saying something like "come on, do that photo"! That really cheered me up! We had a really lucky time!.

The next day, we watched women's vault and then I suggested to go back to the door, and boy, did I have the right feeling! Right when we arrived, the Romanian girls were coming out of the training hall! So I first asked Petrovschi to sign the photo I had bought. She kind of bumped into me by accident, but was really nice and signed it! And then I was most happy to get Andreea to take a photo together with me! Although quite some kids came running she stayed calm, and she really was very nice and smiled a lot! She took the time to take pictures with several people, and I was used as the photographer by one girl! I also took a photo of her together with Stefan! That really made up for the not perfect first day! When Andreea and Oana left, I got to talk to two men who know the girls! They told me they come from Romania! So I asked them, if it really is true, that it's Andreea's last competition, and they told me, that it's not, and that Andreea still plans to go on until Athens! I really hope, that this is true!!! We then happily went back into the hall. When the beam final started, van den Leur and her trainer came and sat down in the row in front of us to watch it. She refused to sign autographs mostly, but after some time I asked her to sign a photo for me which she did! Still I think the other gymnasts I met were much more friendly somehow…When men's high bar started, Stefan and I once again went back to the gym club to talk to an official person about the disappointments we had experienced. They said they want to sort it out and let us know any results. Overall I still had a great time again, but we all hope, that next year it will be back to normal with the visit of the training and taking photos! So I can probably look forward to next year's DTB-Cup again!...
