For the first time in its history the Stuttgart DTB-Cup Banquett took place in a football stadium, to be precise at the "Business Center" of the Gottlieb-Daimler Football Stadium, where the local football heros of the VfB Stuttgart normally fight against relegation and the VIPs with champagne's help against a nervous breakdown. But unfortunatly the Suabian's Gemütlichkeit was nowhere to be seen. In the cold cantine athmosphere and dinner out of tin troughs no kind of party spirit could arrive. No music, no action, only a small but funny "gymnast smoker's & drinkers colony" outside the cantine.

The starter (marinated dried tomatoes, aubergines, olives, artichokes etc.) was satisfactory to the palate, the main course vegi-lasagne had been boiled to a pulp and the veal roast was stuffed with enough garlic and broccoli to finish off an army of vampires. And this was served with potatoes and not with the world famous schwäbische Spätzle. The dessert was a complete successs, fruit salad and fruit sorbet. And the wine was fine. Said Zamo. And the beer was near. Grinned the Chinese.
